RHQ Troop is back from lock down with a bang or two. The Troop is the Reserve enablers of Monmouth who are part of The Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers (Militia). Today the usual Royal Engineer skillset was bolstered by our Medics, Chefs and Human Resources specialists with the added addition of our attached Canadian Master Cpl. The Reserve soldiers enable the Commanding Officer to command his Regiment Living, Moving and Fighting in the field.
Training took place at Rogiet Moor Rifle Range and to maximise the training value we went back to the basics in marksmanship. The minimum standard for Army Reserve weapons training is a maximum 75mm grouping from a 25 meter distance in the prone position. By the end of the weekend most were comfortably hitting the Figure 11 (running man) target out to 300 meters, all done in the glorious Welsh sunshine.
