Physical fitness is an important part of military life. Whilst Louisa may seem to struggle here you DON’T need to be a superman or woman to join and we will help you.
The various Corps & Arms of the services have different standards but for the Royal Engineers going to Assessment Centre you will need to;
- Run 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometres) in under 13 minutes 15 seconds.
- Carry 2 full water jerrycans (20 kilograms each) for 120 metres.
- Lift a 35 kilogram powerbag onto a platform 1.45 metres high.
Success at Assessment Centre will lead you on to Basic Training where you will improve your running time and press-ups and sit-ups under the guidance of Army Physical Training Instructors. That’s a free personal trainer!
